Dear Michelle, Garry and Gang
Thank you for a fantastic " Mama Mia Night," we all had a brilliant time, the food and presentation was lovely. The evening was a great one - When's the next one!!! Love Dee, Pam, Olivia & Tina
Hey, It's Alan (and Michele)...
Thanks for your hospitality at the Royal Oak Pub in Dolton. As usual, I had a fantastic time. I only wish that my "sis", Jan were better and out of that damn Hospital to have joined Michele and I on our vacation. Next time, for sure!
I just thought I'd drop you a short note to thank you and let you know that we made it home (eventually) and safely... now that damn jet-lag has set in and I have no idea which end is up... but hopefully that'll pass in the next day or two.
Cheers and keep well.
Regards,
Alan
We all had a wonderful time - especially as we had no worries about driving back through those narrow lanes/roads. The food was great and you and all your staff could not have been nicer.
Please give our thanks to everyone, especially to Gretal who was so patient and unfailingly cheerful with all our different requests (often when she was trying to serve).
We will definetly recommend your pub to anyone visiting the area and will call in next time we visit Devon.
I haven't seen all the photos yet, but will forward you some for you to put on your web page if you wish.
Thanks again for making our birthday celebrations so great.
This thanks seems little delayed!...
It’s taken a fair while to collect in all our pledges and donations but we have finally got there and have drawn it to a close. I'm pleased to say our little south to north jaunt across the UK raised £1290.80 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and by the time you add gift aid to that it takes it up to over £1600!
It really was a bit of adventure - the varied landscapes, stop overs, people we met, meals we had, things that made us laugh, the sense of relief you felt arriving every night (and the sense of dread at having to get up and do it again in the morning!) I know we both look back on it very fondly and genuinely have a very weird feeling of missing it and wanting it to continue, even months on.
Anyway, we would like to thank all of you that took the time to donate through Just Giving - It’s a very worthy cause and your donations really helped in our motivation to get the job done. We truly appreciated every penny.
Until next time...
All the best for the rest of the year,
To All of you at the Royal Oak for making Georgia's day so special on Sunday
Love from Em and Pete Symons
Patrick: The Food was lovely - Thanks Again

A big thank you for making the birthday surprise so special
Many thanks and Best Wishes The Leech Family
Dear Michelle,
Just thought I would drop you a line to thank you for your patience last night. The family were all very impressed with the food (compliments to the chef), your nice friendly service and allowing us to have the room to ourselves was a great bonus ( for me and other people )
Thank you and good luck
Mrs M Taylor
Thank you so much for all you did for us during our stay. Even though we weren't your guests, you made us feel like we were.

As we were travelling through the beautiful area of Devon and finally found our place to stay it was closed… We didn’t booked anything at all and looking around where we should go next. Then a nice guy told us that most probably a Bar/Restaurant (Which maybe have also rooms available), just around the corner could help us. So we made a short walk and there it was the Royal Oak. Immediately after we put our first foot inside it felt warm and friendly. And yes we find our room and place to stay. The excellent food, The nice Place, The beautiful area, The fine evenings with very, very nice, warm and friendly guys (Give them our Greetings Gary!) makes it unforgettable for us. Thanks Gary and Michelle we enjoyed it and recommend your place because everybody should know that you have a place to be!
Thank you SO much for my 9yr old Daughter's Birthday Dinner Party. You made her and her friends feel very grown up with their delicious three course meal. We appreciate the attention to detail when laying the table and as always the food was fabulous! We would, and do, recommend you to all and sundry. Thanks again. Teresa, Mark, Liam, Ollie, Maddie and Harry xxxxx
Dear Gary and Michelle,
Thank you very much for your gift to the Garden Party on June 12th for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
We made about £850 which we will send to them shortly.
Thanks for your generosity
Yours sincerely

To the staff at the Royal Oak,
I have eaten here on several occassions the food and atmosphere was exceptional, the food equalled and surpassed anything I have eaten in the area, and the staff are incredibliy friendly, I can strongly recommend the fish platter, the mussels were fantastic, and its nice to see a well rounded meal at fair prices.
Thank you for everything, keep it up..
Hi Michelle & Gary. Thanks for a great week and making me and my Mum & Dad so welcome. They were very proud of working their way through the menu and I was very pleased with the biscuits. They have never taken me to a more friendly place on all my holidays. Thanks again and I hope they bring me again soon.
Having just spent a week in Dolton I felt I just had to say that our stay was enhanced by the quality of the local public house. The Royal Oak at Dolton was everything we required: good ale, excellent food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. I can highly recommend thelocally sourced food used to prepare the meals, and this was definately a pub where you left and did not still feel hungary. So, if you sre holidaying in the vicinity of Dolton I recommend you give this public house a visit. You will not be disappointed. *****
We have just spent a week at Ham Farm, next time we'd book B & B here instead, and we ate every night in The Royal Oak, we were made to feel very welcome and the food was excellent, good value for money, our only critisim would be it would have been nice to have some fresh veg with a couple of the meals, but other than that you couldn't fault it. If you're ever in the Dolton area you must pay The Royal Oak a visit. Gary & Michelle are such good hosts it seemed nothing was too much trouble.
10 out of 10.
I hired the Function Room for my 40th celebrations and Michelle and Gary were exceptional in their efforts to make sure the party went brillantly...nothing was a problem to them - even when I suggested hiring the flashing 70s dance floor!! They organised the disco, planned the music, disco etc....it was brilliant. The buffet everyone talked about for weeks after...amazing buffet. Good night had by all..
After a very tiring week in London it was a pleasure to walk into the bar and see a roaring log fire. How welcoming but not as good as the welcome received from Gary and Michelle. We had excellent food in the restaurant with a fine selection of wines, beers and real ale. The village is quiet but the locals are very friendly. We cannot wait to come again if there is room.
Well done
What a wonderful weekend we have had we couldn't of been looked after any better. Gary and Michelle ensured that our weekend went off without any problems. This was the first time that we had taken our dog Blue away for B&B and he was made very welcome. The meals where lovely and not over priced the awarded winning Chef can certainly cook you should go along one evening to find out for yourselves you will not be disappointed
